Happy Chinese New Year everyone! Hope that you’re having a blast eating cny goodies and receiving angpaus. As my angpau to you, let me share to those who could only imagine having at least some hair on your face or can’t go out your house without drawing eyebrows to hide the fact that you look like an egg 🥚with eyes 👀(gurl I got youuu). Disclaimer alert, I do not have perfect eyebrows or skin or body or anything near that but I want to share to you about what I did to my eyebrows to make them grow. IF YOU DON’T WANNA READ TO MY STORY: 1. Buy castor oil (mix it with coconut oil if too thick)🥥 2. Put it in an empty mascara tube 3. Apply it every night on your eyebrows

This picture is when I was 13 years old, you can see that I had really sparse eyebrows and they were all over my face because I didn’t bother to shape them. Ok it’s different for 13 year olds now I KNOW. It could have been the poor quality of the picture and maybe it wasn’t it’s time to sprout yet but LOOK AT IT I LEGIT HAD NO EYEBROWS.

Then slowly when I caught up to beauty trends and realise that ya gurl was massively lacking eyebrows, I was frantic. Well, not frantic but I kept googling “how to grow eyebrows” or “diy remedies for eyebrow growth”. And every single time I search, the ingredient “Castor Oil” keeps appearing with “Coconut Oil” and “Olive Oil”. So I started my search for it. Boy, lemme tell you, IT IS NOWHERE TO BE FOUND!! I told my mom about it and she had no idea what is it but she helped me ask all the pharmacies, health shops and Chinese medicine shops. Every single person I ask gave me the same clueless face I’ve seen a gazillion time before. I gave up on my search because I felt like it was banned in Malaysia??? (Not sure about this) During 2015, I travelled to Europe for my sister’s graduation. I actually forgot about the whole search because I gave up already. But when I was at this health store in UK, I saw it and I told my mom about it. She wasn’t too sure because firstly, it cost RM 60 and secondly, ITS 60ringgit FOR A BOTTLE OF OIL. Welll, I didn’t really bother because I finally found it after sooo long. (It was a lot by the way I’m not done with it yet) After getting it, I didn’t really used it much in spite of my longing for it because it was a really thick oil and it was slightly sticky? I couldn’t find a way to apply it on my eyebrows and using your fingers is just pure disaster. The only way I can apply it properly is when I stole some mascara wands from Sephora, and used it to apply it on. Then one day, I found an empty mascara tube and poured castor oil into it. I applied it to my eyebrows every single night and wash it off in the morning. (You can apply it to your lashes BUT it gets on my glasses and it got into my eye once and it hurts so bad) Let’s jump to now, this is a picture from July 2017 and a few months ago, it was in a course of 5 months that made this much of a progress. I had no makeup on and I’ll say that it looks thicker, denser and fuller. I didn’t promise Lily Collins eyebrows, but I would say this is pretty darn amazing compared to the eyebrows I had before.

All in all, castor oil is amazing for hair growth and I can absolutely agree with that. (trying to experiment with my hair but I can’t figure it out yet) Not everyone’s result would be the same and it might not work best on you because there are limiting factors like your genes or the food that you eat but as long as you’re consistent, be patient and don’t give up, you’ll see great results!

You can easily purchase castor oil from online shops like Shopee or Lazada. Press on me if you wanna buy it!
